Jake Weary (born Jacob Weary; February 14, 1990) is an American actor, singer, musician, songwriter and music producer. He is known for his role as Vince Keeler, in the series Chicago Fire.[1]

Acting career

After an initial guest role on his mother Kim Zimmer's show, Guiding Light in 2002, he was cast as Luke Snyder on the television soap opera As the World Turns.[2]

Weary's departure from As the World Turns was the cause of some controversy, as the timing coincided with a change in course for the character of Luke, who would be revealed to be gay.[3] Initially, news reports suggested that Weary or Zimmer may have been uncomfortable with the story. Zimmer subsequently told the press that Weary's departure was related to his age (at the time, he was 15) and that such a storyline would require a much larger time commitment than originally agreed to. Weary wanted to be able to focus on school and make occasional appearances.

Weary went on to appear in episodes of two of the Law & Order franchise shows, Criminal Intent and SVU.[4]

Weary was cast in Kaare Anderson's film Altitude. He was also cast as Kevin in Fred: The Movie, a made for TV movie by Nickelodeon based on the Fred Figglehorn web series. He later returned for the sequel Fred 2: Night of the Living Fred which came out in October of 2011.[5] In 2012, he reprised his role as Kevin in the Nickelodeon series, Fred: The Show. In 2012, he appeared again as Kevin in Fred 3: Camp Fred. In 2014, he played Hugh in the thriller film It Follows.[6]

Music

Weary is also an electronic/hip-hop/R&B producer and singer. He produces, writes, and records his own music, and has been producing since the age of 12. Weary currently records all of his latest music under the pseudonym Agendas. A self-titled debut EP was released back in July 2011, followed by a sophomore effort titled 'Tones" which was released June 16, 2012.

Personal life

Weary was born in Trenton, New Jersey. He is the son of noted Daytime Emmy Award-winning actress Kim Zimmer and actor and director A.C. Weary.[7]
