Political Life

In 2011, Anna Hazare launched the “Indian Anti-corruption movement". Jarnail Singh was involved in the Jan Lokpal movement.[2] In 2013, the newly formed Aam Aadmi Party contested elections for the first time and thereby Jarnail Singh won the elections and became the “Youngest Sikh MLA” of Delhi Legislative Assembly. He contested the 2013 Delhi Assembly elections as an Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidate. He defeated Rajiv Babbar, the son of 3-time MLA OP Babbar, by over 2000 votes.[3] However, this newly formed minority government dissolved within 49 days. Once again in February 2015, the elections were re-contested and Jarnail Singh was again appointed as MLA(for the 2nd time).
