Jean-Michel Faure is a traditionalist Catholic bishop who is excommunicated from the Catholic Church.[1]

Early life

In 1941, he was born to French pieds-noirs parents in Algiers.

Religious career

In October 1972 he joined the SSPX Seminary at Ecône (Switzerland) and was ordained a priest by Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre in 1977.[2]

Soon after he was appointed at the head of the SSPX district for Southern America.[citation needed]

In 1980 he was made the director of the SSPX Seminary in La Reja (Argentina).[citation needed]

He was appointed at the head of the Mexican district in 1985.[citation needed]

In 2013 he left the SSPX over the dispute of a possible agreement with Rome and joined the SSPX Resistance.[citation needed]

He was consecrated a bishop on March 19, 2015 by Bishop Richard Williamson.[3]

On March 19, 2016 he was co-consecrator of Bishop Miguel Ferreira da Costa, aka Fr Thomas Aquinas.[citation needed]
