Jeanie Finlay (born Nottingham, 1977)[1] is a British artist and filmmaker from Stockton-on-Tees.[2] Her work includes Bifa winning[citation needed] Orion: The Man Who Would Be King, Panto!, Bifa[citation needed] and Grierson-nominated[citation needed] The Great Hip Hop Hoax[3] and Sound it Out, a documentary about the last record store in Teesside which was the official film of Record Store Day.[citation needed] The film was an early successful example of crowdfunding, having been rejected by the BBC.[4]
