Commodore Jerry Kyd is a Royal Navy officer who is the captain of the British aircraft carrier HMS Queen Elizabeth.[1][2] He is the former captain of HMS Ark Royal[3] and HMS Illustrious and the former commanding officer of Britannia Royal Naval College in Dartmouth.[4][5]

Kyd was educated at Southampton University.

Personal life

Kyd is married to Karen, a medical practitioner. They have four sons.[6]
