José Jesús Silvestre (born Novemberber 28, 1989 in Nayarit, Mexico) is a Mexican professional boxer and the former WBA World Minimumweight Interim Champion.[1] Silvestre is promoted by the former WBA (Super) & WBC Champion, Mexican Saúl Álvarez' company Canelo Promotions.[2]

Professional career

In February 2012, Jesús beat the title contender Yader Escobar to become the mandatory challenger for the WBA World Minimumweight Championship.

WBA Minimumweight Championship

On July 14, 2012 Silvestre won a twelve-round decision over Mexican Edwin Díaz to capture the WBA World Minimumweight Interim Championship, the bout was held at the Auditorio Benito Juárez, in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico.
