James Everette Crowell (born May 14, 1974) is an American Major League Baseball pitcher who has played with the Cincinnati Reds (1997), Philadelphia Phillies (2004), and Florida Marlins (2005). Crowell played in the Toronto Blue Jays organization in 2007.
Crowell attended Valparaiso High School and the University of Indianapolis.
In early January 2012, Crowell was outspoken against the use of slots in his resident of state Minnesota. Citing that the casinos are owned by local Native American tribes, Crowell was quoted as "I don't like it for my family, I don't like it for this state. The damn natives have been exploiting this state's fine people for too long, I hope our representatives crack down on this thievery before this state turns into the damn Iroquois nation." WWTC AM 1280 The patriot (Minneapolis-St.Paul) followed up but Crowell declined further comments.
