John Blaxland (1799 – 26 January 1884) was an English-born Australian politician.

He was born in Kent to Gregory Blaxland, an explorer who would take a leading role in the first successful crossing of the Blue Mountains. He came to New South Wales at the age of five, and became a merchant and businessman. On 23 December 1845 he married Ellen Falkner, with whom he had nine children. He was appointed to the New South Wales Legislative Council in 1863, and served there until his death at Ryde in 1884.[1]
