John Bresee

John Bresee is a Utah-based serial entrepreneur with several startups to his credit, as well as a writer, editor, and entrepreneur coach.

Work in business

He was a co-founder of Backcountry.com, one of the leading outdoor gear retailers. Bresee and Jim Holland sold Backcountry to Liberty Media and John C. Malone in 2007.[1] He is also director of ecommerce for Cellmania, a leader in mobile commerce funded by Motorola. Cellmania was acquired by Blackberry in 2013.

Work as writer and editor

Bresee founded the Wasatch Canyon Reporter, a Wasatch, Utah-based sports newspaper, and is managing editor and editor for Powder magazine. Additionally, his work has appeared in Skiing, Outside Magazine, Newsweek and Gravity.
