John Newton Martin (3 July 1867 – 31 August 1942) was an English cricketer. Martin's batting and bowling styles are unknown. He was born in St Austell, Cornwall.

In 1891, he played a single first-class match for the Marylebone Cricket Club against Somerset at the County Ground, Taunton.[1] A decade later he played in Devon's inaugural Minor Counties Championship match against Glamorgan.[2] He captained the county in this match, making him Devon's first captain. From 1901 to 1903, he played 12 matches for Devon, the last of which came against Glamorgan.[3]

He died in Torquay, Devon on 31 August 1942.
