John McDonald (born 1886 in Kirkcaldy) was a Scottish footballer who played as a winger for Liverpool in The Football League. McDonald was at Rangers before he was signed by Liverpool in 1909. He made 34 appearances in his debut season, 25 and 19 appearances followed during his next seasons at the club. He was unable to hold a regular starting place in the side, and moved to Newcastle United in 1912.[1]
