John W. Murphy (January 16, 1878 – December 9, 1963), a Democrat, was mayor of New Haven, Connecticut, from 1932 to 1935, and again from 1940 to 1941.[1] He was born in Fair Haven, Connecticut, where a street is named for him.[citation needed]
