Joseph Petavel

Sir Joseph Ernest Petavel KBE FRS[1] D.Sc. (14 August 1873 – 31 March 1936) was a British physicist. He was director of NPL from 1919 to 1936 and was the designer of the Petavel gauge for measurement of the pressures within exploding gasses.
