The Journal of Pragmatics is a peer-reviewed academic journal published by Elsevier. The Journal of Pragmatics was established in 1977 by Jacob L. Mey (at that time Odense University) and Hartmut Haberland (Roskilde University). The editors in chief are currently Michael Haugh (The University of Queensland) (2015~) and Marina Terkourafi (Leiden University) (2017~). The previous editors in chief of the Journal of Pragmatics were Jonathan Culpeper (Lancaster University) (2009-2014) and Neal R. Norrick (Saarland University) (2010-2016). The journal has an impact factor of 1.118.[1]
