Junji Ito (伊藤淳二, Itō Junji, born August 23, 1986) is a Japanese mixed martial artist who competes in the strawweight division.
"Junji Sarumaru" (猿丸ジュンジ) is ring name of Ito in Japan.
Mixed martial arts career
Junji Ito has spent his entire career fighting for the Shooto organization. He is known for his punching power,[1] with the majority of his wins coming by knockout. He is the #1 ranked fighter in his division by Shooto.[2]
Junji Ito was expected to fight Shooto World Flyweight (114 lbs) Champion Rambaa Somdet on March 12, 2011,[3] however the championship bout was pushed back to April 29, 2011[4] and Ito ended up losing to Junji Ikoma.
