Justin Chart (born February 6, 1960) is a Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter and producer. Chart is known for his song, "Los Angeles The Song" [1][2][3]
Early life
Chart was born on February 6, 1960 in Los Angeles, California, to Lee Chart and Betty Chart. His father was a professional boxer from Brooklyn, New York. His mother was a professional opera singer. As an opera singer, she performed mainly in New York, Chicago, Illinois, and Los Angeles, California where she eventually resided. Chart credits his mother as an early influence to his music career. Chart started playing piano at the age of 5 and by the age of 11 learned the clarinet and sax. As a young teenager, he was chosen to record an album with 2 orchestras as soloist. After high school, Chart studied music at the School of The Performing Arts in London, England.[4]
Career
Chart has written songs for films such as Key Exchange (1985), Back To School (1986), Full Metal Jacket (1987), Born To Race (1988), Speed Zone (1989), The Hitman (1991), and others. He also worked as a songwriter on television shows.[4]
From 1990 to 2000, Chart produced four solo albums.

In 2012, Chart produced, wrote and sung "Los Angeles The Song". It is described as an upbeat love song dedicated to his native city.[3] On April 19, 2013, Chart released another song "We Rock The World" accompanied with a music video featuring his band members.[5][6]
Chart has created seven different versions of "Los Angeles The Song", featuring different members of his band including his daughter, Tali Chart.
Personal life
Justin Chart lives in Los Angeles, California. He has a daughter.[1]
