Kames (Scottish Gaelic: Camas nam Muclach) is a small village on the Cowal peninsula in Argyll and Bute, Scotland.[1]

Between 1839 and 1921 the village was involved in the processing and transit of gunpowder.[1]

Kames is connected to Tighnabruaich and has a post office, church, police station and hotel. The grocery store, has been relaunched as the Kames Village Store under new management in late 2016.[2]

Located directly on the foreshore is the Kames Hotel. [3]
