The Karashor ("Black salt marsh") depression is a 120 kilometre long natural bowl the north-west of Turkmenistan. It is about 20 kilometres wide and the depth relative to sea level is minus 28 meters.

Golden Age Lake

In October 2000[1] a project was startet to create the Golden Age Lake. In July 2009 an opening ceremony was held.[2]
