Karl Mollweide

Karl Brandan Mollweide, (February 3, 1774 in Wolfenbüttel – March 10, 1825 in Leipzig) was a German mathematician[1] and astronomer in Halle and Leipzig. In trigonometry, he discovered the formula known as Mollweide's formula. He invented a map projection called the Mollweide projection.
