Karolina I Wydra (born March 5, 1981)[1] is a Polish actress and model. She is best known for playing Dominika Petrova in the American medical drama series House. She appeared in the sixth and seventh seasons of True Blood as the vampire Violet Mazurski.[2] Wydra will star as Detective Dianne Gibbons in the first season of ABC's upcoming crime drama anthology series Wicked City.

Life and career

Wydra was born in Opole, Poland.[3] In 2003, Wydra appeared on the magazine covers of Vellum and the German edition of Elle Magazine. In 2005, she appeared on the front cover of Oyster Magazine.[4] In 2007, Wydra appeared in a Nespresso commercial with George Clooney.[5] From 2011 to 2012, she played the role of Dominika Petrova in House.[6]

In March 2013, Wydra was cast in the pilot of NBC's remake of the British drama series Bad Girls.[7] In 2013, she joined the cast of HBO's fantasy drama series True Blood as Violet Mazurski, a vampire who becomes Jason Stackhouse's girlfriend.[8] In the sixth season, Wydra was a recurring cast member, but was upgraded to the main cast for its seventh and final season.[9] In 2015, she was cast in the first season of ABC's crime drama anthology series Wicked City as Dianne Gibbons, a beautiful detective working undercover on the Sunset Strip.[10]
