Katherine Bridget 'Kate' Pretty, CBE, FSA (born 18 October 1945) is a British archaeologist and academic. From 1991 to 2013, she was Principal of Homerton College, Cambridge.[1] Under her leadership, Homerton became the newest college of the University of Cambridge, having previously been an Approved Society.[2] In addition, she served as Pro-Vice-Chancellor, from 2004 to 2010, and Deputy Vice-Chancellor, from 2010 to 2013, of the university.[3]

Honours

In November 2009, Pretty was appointed Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) 'for services to higher education'.[4]

On 9 March 2000, she was elected Fellow of the Society of Antiquaries of London (FSA).[5] In October 2011, she was elected an Honorary Fellow of Harris Manchester College, Oxford.[6]
