Kevin Allen is an American sports journalist and author. He is the national hockey writer for USA Today, a position which he has held since 1986.[1]

Allen, a native of Michigan, attended Eastern Michigan University and began his sports journalism career in 1982 with the Port Huron Times Herald in Port Huron, Michigan as a writer covering the Detroit Red Wings from 1982 to 1986.[2] He resides in Wayne, Michigan and also serves as the president of the Professional Hockey Writers' Association (since 2003). Allen has also authored 16 hockey-related books. He was awarded the Lester Patrick Trophy in 2013, for his contributions to hockey in the United States.[3]
