Kishan Singh Rathore is recipient of Mahavir Chakra for bravery displayed in Indo-Pakistani War of 1947 . He is from Ghadsisar (sardarshahar)in Churu district in Rajasthan. He belonged to 1 Rajput/4 Guards unit. He retired as Colonel. His father Major Th. Deep Singh had also got an award earlier.

Col. Kishen Singh is married in the royal family of Jamnagar(Nawanagar) in Gujarat.His elder brother was the highly decorated Maj. General Shiv bux Singh.His father Major Deep Singh was the Commander of Ganga Risala popularly known as the camel army.
