Kochubey (Russian: Кочубей) is a rural locality (a selo) in Tarumovsky District, Republic of Dagestan, Russia. Population: 8,265 (2021 Census);[2] 6,366 (2002 Census);[3] 11,205 (1989 Soviet census).[4] There are 35 streets.[5]

Geography

Kochubey is located 38 km north of Tarumovka (the district's administrative centre) by road. Talovka is the nearest rural locality.[6]

Climate

Kochubey has a cold semi-arid climate (Köppen climate classification BSk), with moderate-cold winters and some of the hottest summers in Russia. Precipitation is quite low during all year with some maximum in summer.
