Krista Mikkonen
Krista Johanna Mikkonen (born March 15, 1972 in Hamina, Finland) is a Finnish Green Party politician. She now lives in Joensuu, but spent her childhood in Koria. She has worked as a Member of the Finnish Parliament since 2015.[1][2] Mikkonen was elected as the Green Party spokeswoman in September 2016. Before that, Mikkonen worked as the party's vice chairman.[3]
Political career
Mikkonen was elected as a Member of the Finnish Parliament in the 2015 parliamentary elections, with 4624 votes.[4] Her constituency is Savonia-Karelia. She had previously been nominated in three parliamentary elections in 1999, 2007 and 2011 in the constituency of North Karelia.[5][6]
From 1997 to 2000, and again in 2005, Mikkonen was a councillor in Joensuu. She was also a member of the city council from 2005-2012. From 2008-2011, Mikkonen worked as the Green Party's spokeswoman for the constituency of North Karelia, before which she worked as the Green Party's spokeswoman for the Joensuu region from 1998 to 2000, and again in 2004.[7]
