Kryptophanaron alfredi, the Atlantic flashlightfish, is a species of flashlight fish found in the western central Atlantic Ocean. During the day it is found in deep waters to depths of 200 metres (660 ft) and ascends to shallow waters up to a depth of 25 metres (82 ft) on moonless nights. This species grows to a length of 12.5 centimetres (4.9 in) TL. This species is the only known member of its genus. This species can be found in the aquarium trade.
