Kudelstaart (52°14′N 4°45′E / 52.233°N 4.750°E / 52.233; 4.750) is a town in the Dutch province of North Holland. It is a part of the municipality of Aalsmeer, and lies about 10 km southeast of Hoofddorp.

In 2001, the town of Kudelstaart had 5,889 inhabitants. The built-up area of the town was 0.96 km², and contained 2203 residences.[1] The statistical area "Kudelstaart", which also can include the peripheral parts of the village, as well as the surrounding countryside, had a population of around 6,530.[2]

Geography

Kudelstaart lies on the Westeinderplassen, a large complex of lakes.

Economy

Like in neighboring Aalsmeer, greenhouse-based agriculture is very important to the local economy.

Architecture

Perhaps the most remarkable edifice in Kudelstaart is the fort belonging to the Stelling van Amsterdam.

Public transport

This services is very frequent, quarter-hourly through the day and half-hourly in the evenings.[3][4]
