Kusa is a village in eastern Latvia in Madona municipality. As of 2008, Kusa had a population of 686. Kusa is situated by road P30 in 8th kilometer from Madona towards Cēsis.

History

Kusa developed from former manor with few houses into village in the 1970s, thanks to organisation PMK-19. PMK-19 (LV: Pārvietojamā Mehanizatoru Kolonna) was draining marches and improving quality of fields of local Soviet farming organisations - colhos. There have been built 3-4 stock houses, District heating system and paved roads. Kusa has postal office (postal code LV-4847), primary school (Kusas Pamatskola) for ca 250 kids, small shops, hotel. There are saw mill, car-repair workshops and gas station in Kusa.
