Kyiv Music Fest (Template:Lang-uk), is an annual international music festival in Kyiv, Ukraine that profiles modern Ukrainian classical music aiming to promote Ukrainian musicians in the context of world art.[1] The co-founders of the state-funded festival are the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine and the National Union of Composers of Ukraine.[2]

The festival is held annually in late September to early October. The program of the festival consists works of modern Ukrainian and foreign composers, solo artists and music groups performing.

History

The first festival "Kyiv Music Fest" was held in 1990. It was initiated by prominent Ukrainian composer Ivan Karabyts who became the festival's musical director from 1990 to 2001.[3] From 2002 to 2005, the music director of the festival was Myroslav Skoryk, from 2006 — Ivan Nebesny.
