Lady and the Tramp is an upcoming American film based on the 1955 animated film of the same name written by Erdman Penner, Joe Rinaldi, Ralph Wright, and Don DaGradi. The film is set to be directed by Charlie Bean from a screenplay by Andrew Bujalski. It is set to debut on the upcoming Disney streaming service.
Premise
Lady and the Tramp tell the story of "an upper-middle-class American cocker spaniel named Lady who meets a streetsmart, downtown stray mongrel called the Tramp, and the two embark on many romantic adventures including that iconic spaghetti smooch dinner scene."[1]

Development
On February 8, 2018, it was announced that Walt Disney Pictures was developing a live-action remake of the 1955 animated film Lady and the Tramp. The film is expected to premiere on the upcoming Disney streaming service that is set to launch in the fall of 2019.[2] On March 19, 2018, it was announced that film was set to be directed by Charlie Bean from a screenplay by Andrew Bujalski with Brigham Taylor serving as a producer.[3]
Casting
In July 2018, it was announced that Ashley Jensen and Justin Theroux had been cast in the voice roles of Jackie and Tramp, respectively.[1][4]
