Lakatoro is the capital of Malampa Province of the island country of Vanuatu.

It is situated on the eastern shore of Malakula and is the largest settlement in that island.

Lakatoro consists of a couple of retail shops, a supermarket (LTC), a local market selling locally farmed goods. A fish and butchers shop, a women's handcraft center. All shops closes around 5pm except for the Lakatoro Consumers Cooperative which opens till 7:30pm and the Lakonetcom which opens till 9pm Monday to Friday.

Transportation

The town is served by Norsup Airport. You can get around town on minbus or vehicles with PT (Public Transport) on the license plate for 100vt -150vt depending on which bus you take.

Shipping

There is weekly shipping services from Vila (Efate) to Litzlitz (Malekula) to Luganville (Santo). The Vanuatu Ferry one of the best passenger and cargo vessels charges 6,500vt adult 3,250vt child (18yr less) from Vila to Litzlitz. And 3,000vt adult, 1,500vt child from Litzlitz to Luganville.

Banking

The National Bank of Vanuatu (NBV) is the only bank there which opens at 8:30am to 4:30pm Monday to Friday. It also has a ATM outside.

ANZ has an agent for their GoMoney product which is PIM Trading next to the Market house.

Communication

Mobile

The two providers are Telecom Vanuatu Limited (TVL) and Digicel (Digi). Mobile users can access the two main mobile providers by purchasing a sim card for 5,00vt or mobile phones as low as 5,000vt
