Larry DiTillio

Lawrence G. "Larry" DiTillio was an American film and TV series writer.

Career

After first few attempts at writing for television and movies in the 1970s including a stint on Filmation's Fat Albert and the Cosby Kids, Larry DiTillio became a staff writer for the original He-Man and the Masters of the Universe series. He wrote the most episodes throughout both seasons, totalling 16 episodes as well as directing one.

Flying Buffalo hired DiTillio in 1983 when he was out of work due to a strike. He wrote The Isle of Darksmoke (1984), Flying Buffalo's last multiplayer Tunnels & Trolls adventure. With Lynn Willis, he wrote The Masks of Nyarlathotep (1984), a world-spanning campaign for Call of Cthulhu, which is considered one of the best roleplaying adventures of all time, and which won the Origins Award.

DiTillio is known for his role as executive story editor of the science-fiction series Babylon 5, and for writing or co-writing most of the episodes in the animated series Beast Wars. He was also a writer for the updated 2002 He-Man and the Masters of the Universe series.

DiTillio died at the age of 79 on March 16, 2019, following a long illness.
