Lars Elof Gustaf Brink (born November 12, 1943) is a Swedish theoretical physicist.
During 1971-1973 was member of the theory group at CERN. Since 1986 he is professor of theoretical physics at Chalmers Institute of Technology in Gothenburg.[1] Brink is one of the pioneers of (superstring theory since the 1970s (at CERN and Caltech). He coordinates the EU network superstring theory since 2000.
In 1977 he designed with John Schwarz and Joel Scherk the first supersymmetric Yang-Mills theories.
In 1997 he became a member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences.
From 2008 to 2011 was a member of the Nobel Committee for Physics.
