Laura Tingle is an Australian journalist and author. She has worked for The Australian, The Age, the Sydney Morning Herald and writes for the Australian Financial Review as an economics correspondent and political correspondent.[1][2] She is a regular political panelist on ABC radio and television.[3]

Personal life and career

The Australian Financial Review website describes Tingle as having "over 30 years experience as a reporter covering markets, economics and politics" and notes that she has won two Walkley awards and the Paul Lyneham award for Excellence in Press Gallery Journalism.[4]

Tingle is married to retired journalist and former Labor Party staffer Alan Ramsey.

Political views

While participating in the discussion panel on ABC television's Insiders programme (6 March 2016), Tingle described former Liberal Prime Minister Tony Abbott as an "oaf" .[5]
