Lauren Singer is an environmental activist, entrepreneur, and blogger. Her blog "Trash is for Tossers" focuses on educating readers on how she achieves a zero waste lifestyle, and her company The Simply Co. sells environmentally friendly laundry detergent.[1][2][3]
Early life and education
Singer attended NYU and received a degree in environmental studies in 2013. She went on to work as a sustainability analyst for the New York City Department of Environmental Protection.[4][5]
Career and activism
Inspired by Bea Johnson, Singer started her zero waste journey in 2012[6]. In the same year, Singer began the Trash is for Tossers blog, detailing her journey of zero waste. Most notably, all of the waste she does produce is kept inside the same 16 oz. mason jar.Lauren was also a speaker of TEDxTeen 2015[7]. She started Package Free Shop with Daniel Silverstein at Brooklyn New York in 2017.[8]</ref> [9][10][11]
