Lego Ninjago: The Series is an animated television series based on the toy line of the same name. It features a large storyline of characters set in Ninjago, based on mystical rather than historical Japan. The characters are featured as four teen boys who have the ninja skills to protect their village from the evil Lord Garmadon, the evil brother of their Sensei, Sensei Wu. The characters are Kai, Jay, Cole, Zane, Sensei Wu, Nya and Lord Garmadon. The series will debut on January 11, 2011, with the series' pilot shown as a movie. As of October, Lego has produced new episodes for the show, which are scheduled to air on Cartoon Network and Lego TV.
Plot
Not long after Ninjago: Masters of Spinjtizu, Kai, Cole, Zane, and Jay, the four young ninja from the film, watch over the peaceful land of Ninjago and train to fight the main antagonist from the first film, Lord Garmadon, when he returns to seek revenge on them. Under the steady eyes of Sensei Wu, the Ninja's wise mentor, the threat of his evil brother's return grows strong, and soon a mysterious boy (acknowledged as Lloyd Garmadon, the son of Lord Garmadon, as soon as he appears) unleashes the dreaded Serpentine to conquer Ninjago and follow in his father's footsteps. Now the four teenagers must overcome their new challenge and save the people of Ninjago from their snake-foes, and eventually confront Lord Garmadon, who is mysteriously linked to the ancient race of Serpentine...

Sequel Film
Following the instant success of the first film, Lego planned on producing a TV series based on the movie, continuing the story from where it was left at. The movie was marketed into four different episodes, followed by the release of six online webisodes following the ninja's misadventures after the film. In total, both the four episodes and online minisodes were marketed as a first season of the TV series, and the second series would feature 11 episodes and a two-part sequel movie aired in February.
