Leon Bailey (born 9 August 1997) is a Jamaican footballer who currently plays for Belgian club K.R.C. Genk. He plays as a winger.[1]

Career

Youth

Bailey came in the news in 2013 when while at KRC Genk he was illegally staying in Belgium having been taken there by a players' agent who had him sign a contract at KRC Genk. After a raid by the Labour Ministry, Bailey and his entourage suddenly disappeared. [2]

Professional

Bailey joined K.R.C. Genk in 2015 from AS Trenčín. He made his Belgian Pro League debut at 21 August 2015 in a 3-1 away defeat against Sint-Truiden. He replaced Siebe Schrijvers after 62 minutes.[3]

Bailey scored his first professional goal for KRC Genk on November 21st versus OH Leuven.

International

Leon Bailey made his Jamaica under-23 debut on March 8 2015 versus the Cayman Islands under-23 side, where he scored directly from a freekick.[4]
