Lisa Kay is an English actress, born in 1977[1] to Peter and Jean Hazel Kay. She grew up in Levisham on the North York Moors, and has three sisters, Samantha, Sara and Caroline.[2]

Lisa first trained as a dancer, and performed professionally as such in stage shows for some time. She then retrained as an actress at the Bristol Old Vic with considerable distinction,[citation needed] and has appeared in a wide range of roles on the stage and in television. She was a member of the cast of ITV1's Heartbeat (October 2006 - September 2010), playing Nurse Carol Cassidy. Her childhood village of Levisham is close to Goathland where the show was filmed.

Lisa appeared as Eleanor Ross Heaney in the 2001 film, Bridget Jones's Diary.[3]
