List of current champions in All Elite Wrestling
All Elite Wrestling (AEW) is an American professional wrestling promotion based in Jacksonville, Florida, and is considered the second largest wrestling promotion in the United States behind WWE. Title reigns are either determined by professional wrestling matches or are awarded to a wrestler as a result of the culmination of various scripted storylines.
There are currently nine total championships in AEW, with five singles championships, one traditional tag team championship, and one six-man tag team championship for male wrestlers, and two singles championships for female wrestlers. Championships from AEW's sister promotion Ring of Honor are also occasionally defended on AEW programming; its titles can be found at the Ring of Honor article.
As of September 3, 2024, 12 wrestlers hold AEW's championships This list includes the number of times the wrestler has held the title, the date and location of the win, and a description of the winning bout.
Overview
[edit]The American professional wrestling promotion All Elite Wrestling (AEW) promotes several professional wrestling championships for its men's and women's divisions. AEW often broadcasts championship matches on their weekly television programs—Wednesday Night Dynamite, Friday Night Rampage, and Saturday Night Collision—as well as television specials, including Battle of the Belts. Championship defenses also occur at the promotion's periodic pay-per-view events.
Men

[edit]At the top of AEW's championship hierarchy for male wrestlers is the AEW World Championship. It is held by first-time champion Bryan Danielson, who defeated Swerve Strickland in a Title vs. Career match at All In on August 25, 2024.[1]
Secondary titles for male wrestlers include the AEW TNT Championship, the AEW International Championship, and the AEW Continental Championship. The TNT Championship is a television championship, the International Championship has a special attribute in which it can be defended in other promotions globally (although the majority of defenses have been held in AEW), while the Continental Championship is defended under Continental Rules in which no one is allowed at ringside and outside interference is strictly prohibited.
The TNT Championship is held by Jack Perry, who is in his first reign. He won the vacant title by defeating Konosuke Takeshita, Mark Briscoe, Dante Martin, Lio Rush, and El Phantasmo in a ladder match at Forbidden Door on June 30, 2024; previous champion Adam Copeland was stripped of the title due to injury.[2] The International Championship is held by record-tying two-time title holder Will Ospreay, who defeated MJF at All In on August 25, 2024.[3] The Continental Championship is held by first-time champion Kazuchika Okada, who defeated Eddie Kingston on the March 20, 2024, episode of Dynamite.[4]
The FTW Championship is a tertiary level hardcore championship, considered (in storyline) as an unsanctioned "outlaw" title, with many matches held under "FTW Rules". It is held by record three-time champion Hook, who defeated Chris Jericho in an FTW Rules Last Chance match at All In on August 25, 2024; had Hook lost, he would have never been able to challenge for the title again for as long as Jericho was champion.[5]
Tag Team
[edit]The AEW World Tag Team Championship is AEW's traditional tag team title, being contested by teams of two wrestlers. It is held by The Young Bucks (Matthew Jackson and Nicholas Jackson), who are in their record third reign, both as a team and individually. They defeated FTR (Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler) in a Ladder match at Dynasty on April 21, 2024, which was a tournament final for the vacant title. Previous champions Sting and Darby Allin vacated the title due to Sting's retirement.[6]
The AEW World Trios Championship is a six-man tag team championship, contested by teams of three wrestlers, referred to as trios. It is held by the team of Pac and Blackpool Combat Club (Claudio Castagnoli and Wheeler Yuta), who are in their first reign as a team, while individually, it is the first for Castagnoli and Yuta and record-tying second for Pac. They defeated previous champions The Patriarchy (Christian Cage, Killswitch, and Nick Wayne), Bang Bang Gang (Juice Robinson, Austin Gunn, and Colten Gunn), and House of Black (Malakai Black, Brody King, and Buddy Matthews) in a four-way London Ladder match at All In on August 25, 2024.[7]
Women
[edit]At the top of AEW's championship hierarchy for female wrestlers is the AEW Women's World Championship. It is held by first-time champion "The Glamour" Mariah May, who defeated "Timeless" Toni Storm at All In on August 25, 2024.[8]
The secondary title for female wrestlers is the AEW TBS Championship, which is also a television championship. It is held by first-time champion Mercedes Moné, who defeated Willow Nightingale at Double or Nothing on May 26, 2024.[9]
