In ''Crash Twinsanity'', Crash Bandicoot and Neo Cortex go to the Academy of Evil to find her so that she can help them save the world. After Cortex finds her, she must make her way through the rooftops to get out of the school. During the game she is kidnapped by Crash's evil counterpart, named Evil Crash, in another dimension, but in the end she is able to help defeat the Evil Twins. In contrast to her previous appearance, she does not display much personality, not speaking at all throughout the game (with the exception of a single "Huh?" in the final cutscene).

In ''Crash Tag Team Racing'', Nina Cortex's personality is radically different from her portrayal in ''Ripto's Rampage''. In this game, she is seen attempting to obliterate the Bandicoots with Doctor Cortex and Doctor N. Gin. Also, in the same game, Nina is disliked to the extreme by Coco Bandicoot, who has a rivalry against her. Nina, on the other hand, doesn't appear to hold anything specific against her female opposite. She looks the same way when she appeared in ''Twinsanity'', except her height has changed, making her shorter. Nina is normally depicted as easily annoyed and has a pessimistic look on life, much like a stereotypical [[Goth subculture|Goth]]. Uka Uka replaces Neo Cortex with Nina after growing tired of his incompetence. Nina managed to brainwash Coco during the adventure. She eventually battles Crash in a giant spider robot body, her way of "if you want something done right".

Gin has developed a masochistic, bipolar, depressive and occasionally effeminate personality.

N. Tropy made his debut in ''Warped'' as the third boss in the game. Upon his defeat, the Time Twister Machine fell into disarray, trapping Cortex, Tropy, and Uka Uka in a time prison and morphing the first two into infants. N. Tropy plays a minor role in ''[[Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex]]'', in which he attends Uka Uka's bad guy convention. He acts as an obstacle throughout the levels in the game. N. Tropy's latest appearance in the main series was in ''[[Crash Twinsanity]]'' as the fifth boss alongside Doctor Nitrus Brio when they, using the vast resources from Doctor N. Gin's company, hunted for treasure. They were easily thwarted by Spyro the Dragon. It seems now that N. Tropy is no longer working aside the likes of Cortex, but instead working with N. Brio, although still on the same side as Uka Uka.

In ''Crash Bandicoot 2: N-Tranced'', N. Tropy is entrusted by Uka Uka with the task of aiding him in universal domination. To do this, N. Tropy kidnaps Coco and Crunch, as well as Fake Crash, who he believes to be the real Crash. He then enlists N. Trance to hypnotise them into joining him. However, Crash manages to turn the bandicoots back to normal, before defeating N. Trance and N. Tropy. In the kart racing games ''Crash Team Racing'' and ''Crash Nitro Kart'', N. Tropy is master of the relic races, and can be unlocked by beating all his ghosts in Time Trial mode. N. Tropy has a cameo appearance in ''Crash Boom Bang!'' in the "Silhouette Quiz" minigame.

Tropy is, needless to say, a nefarious and smug character as opposed to the short temper of Doctor Cortex, with a smooth British accent to match. He appears to be the smartest out of all the doctors, but he tends to get frustrated when he repeatedly misses his target, and as a result tires easily. This usually works to Crash's advantage and results in Tropy's many defeats to the hands of the bandicoot.

The creators of ''Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped'' have stated that because the plot of ''Warped'' involved time travel, a time travelling boss was called for. This led to Nefarious Tropy's initial creation.<ref name="warped">{{cite web |title= Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped Gallery |url=http://www.naughtydog.com/crash/crash/c3-character.htm |accessdate=2007-03-21}}</ref> Tropy's shortened name is a pun on the term "[[entropy]]", a measurement of chaos, randomness, and disorder.

Prone to random fits of [[stuttering]] and giggling, his lack of [[self-esteem]] let Cortex take credit for the Evolvo-Ray that Brio perfected. In ''Crash Bash'', for the contest between good and evil, Brio is summoned by Uka Uka to play for the side of evil. It is hinted in the PAL version of the instruction manual that he may have been the creator of Dingodile. Brio did not return again until ''Crash Twinsanity'', when he teamed up with Doctor Nefarious Tropy to defeat Cortex and gain the Evil Twins' treasure. He appears alongside Tropy in a boss fight, immediately following Crash's escape from N. Gin's battleship, in which Brio (after being instructed by N. Tropy to "get changed") drinks a potion to transform himself into a large, green frog-like monster. He then appeared (in his human form) alongside N. Tropy and N. Gin again in the Evil Twins' fortress, claiming the treasure for themselves. However, they were thwarted by [[Spyro the Dragon (character)|Spyro]], who had been trapped in the Twins' vault. In this game, he remains mute, and his only response to another character is nodding in reply to N. Tropy.

Unlike the psychopathic Doctor Neo Cortex, Nitrus Brio is far from evil in intentions. He is Cortex's lone voice of reason in the first game of the series, but because of his supposedly low self-esteem, his words often go unnoticed by the ignorant Doctor Cortex, who only cares about making more mutated soldiers despite past failures. Brio in his human form is not very powerful physically, relying on a numerous array of potions as a means of attack or increasing his own power level. In the first ''Crash Bandicoot'' game, Brio initially attacks by tossing two distinct kinds of potions contained in beakers; his green beakers, upon destruction, release a medium-sized sentient blob that'll hop after the intended target, and red beakers explode upon contact with the ground. By consuming a mix of the two beakers, Brio can transform into a large, muscular, green creature with superhuman strength. Brio uses a similar mix to transform into a large, frog-like creature as a means to combat Crash in ''Crash Twinsanity''. Brio is known to occasionally use a [[raygun]] similar to Doctor Cortex's in the party game ''[[Crash Bash]]'', though this is the only game in which he uses one.

Brio's name is a play on the word "[[embryo]]". After Crash saved her in the first installment, it was stated that she had dumped Crash for Pinstripe later on (as an excuse for her to not appear again) and didn't appear in the ''Crash'' series again until ''[[Crash Boom Bang!]]'' (in which she became playable). She also had a cameo role in ''[[Crash Twinsanity]]'' on a sign for the Moulin Cortex, which may be a parody of her controversial role in the first Crash game. She also features in ''[[Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped]]'' and in ''[[Crash Nitro Kart]]'' in a picture at Crash's house (signifying that he still thinks about her).

He is neither on Crash's side nor on Cortex's side, but will attempt to capture or eat anything that trespasses into his territory.

When Crash Bandicoot first washed up onto N. Sanity Island in the first game, Papu Papu and his people attempted to take him in as their food, but Crash is able to speed through the mob on hog-back and defeat Papu Papu, rendering him unconscious long enough for him to escape. The game's epilogue explains that Papu Papu sold the ruins of Neo Cortex's burnt-down castle to a resort developer, and used the proceeds to open a "Big & Tall" shop on the island. This part of the epilogue, however, can not be considered canon, as the castle is seen intact in future games (notably ''Cortex Strikes Back'' and ''Nitro Kart''). In ''Crash Twinsanity'', Papu Papu attempts to sacrifice Cortex to one of their totem gods, but when Crash intervenes and botches the sacrifice, Papu Papu orders his people to capture Crash, but they once again prove to be unsuccessful.

Papu Papu appears as a boss character in ''Crash Team Racing'', in which it is revealed that he is capable of speaking [[English language|English]]. After the character has won all of the trophies in the Lost City, Papu Papu appears and expresses both his extreme boredom of watching "puny slugs race so slow" and his desire to join in on the action and prove that he is the world's best driver. When the character defeats Papu Papu in a one-on-one race, Papu Papu attributes his loss to not eating a big enough breakfast. He then praises the character's speed despite his/her small size, and gives the character the second boss key of the game, warning him/her of the much grumpier Nitros Oxide. Papu Papu can be unlocked as a playable character by winning the Green Gem in Adventure mode. The game's epilogue states that Papu Papu joined the Wild Wrestling Association under the moniker "Mister Bad Belly". His signature move, the "Bad Belly Bounce", was banned after three of his opponents suffered from severe rope friction burns.

Papu Papu appears as the first boss in the party game ''Crash Bash''. Here, he is able to magically summon miniature Crash Bandicoots to fight for him, and laughs when they are defeated. Papu Papu is vulnerable to attack at this point, allowing the character to hit him with a crate of any kind. When this process is repeated two more times, Papu Papu is crushed by a falling rock.

Papu Papu was originally created by Naughty Dog as an opportunity to animate jiggling fat.<ref name="first"/>

Being small, Norm does not give the impression of being a formidable opponent (indeed, the reaction of both Earthling teams upon meeting him for the first time is to laugh at him). As a mime, he is completely silent, communicating through gestures.

The larger Norm (known as Big Norm), is the complete opposite of the smaller Norm. Aside from being much bigger, he loves racing and often gets frustrated when the smaller Norm does not co-operate with him. He also actively speaks, and often insults competitors and even his smaller version. Despite this, he is not as sore a loser as the smaller Norm.
