TV-movie

The series began with a two-hour TV-movie, Fatal Confession, that originally aired Monday November 30th 1987, at 9:00 pm on NBC.[2]

Synopsis: Father Frank Dowling is a priest with a penchant for solving mysteries. He has to solve the mystery of a young man who's obsessed with finding his natural parents: when the man steps out onto the ledge of a building, threatening to jump unless he's told who his parents are, Father Dowling is called to try and talk him down; unfortunately the man falls, and it looks like he may have been murdered.

Directed by Christopher Hibler; written by Donald E. Westlake.[3]
