A Westchester Deluxe 2-bedroom Lustron house

This is a list of notable Lustron houses. A Lustron house is a home built using enamelized metal. There were thousands of prefabricated homes built in this manner.[1]

Numerous Lustron houses have been listed on the National Register of Historic Places.[2]

  • There are several Lustron houses located in Brentwood on Litzsinger road. Many of them are original and many of them have been sided, have additions, or have had the windows replaced with vinyl. There are also 3 in St. Charles, Missouri that are all owned by the same owner, and one next to I-70 in Wentzville. There is also one in Velda Village Missouri and two in St. Louis City on McDonald in the Tower Grove South neighborhood, No. 00804.
  • There are 3 Lustron houses located in Webster Groves, Missouri within close proximity. Two are located at the corner of Virginia and Hazel Avenues. The other is located at the corner of Edgar Road and Ridge Ave. There is also a cluster of Lustrons in Webster Groves on Eldridge Avenue in North Webster. All are relatively original outside. House numbers are 101 (restored a few years ago and in very good condition), 121, 124 and 125. A couple of these are not Westchesters, making them very rare.

There is a Luston located at 930 Lindsay Lane in Florissant, Missouri that was a one owner until February of 2017. It is a Westchester II model with a rear addition from the early 60s. The bath has been altered with a tile stand-up shower, it is missing the original "Lustron zigzag" on the front porch and the Thor washbasin, but is otherwise 100% original. The current owner has no plans for alterations.

There are also 5 Lustron homes in the Kansas City area near 85th and Wornall Road. One of them was the display model and residence of the local sales representative. Local legend says that the salesman came home one day and told his wife that he no longer had a job because the company was bankrupt, but they still had their house.

In Kansas City there are at least 10 or more. This includes the Kansas suburb. IN south Kansas City there are at least 6 in a mile radius. Three together on one street.

There are 2 Lustron homes in Marshall, Missouri, across the street from each other at the intersection of W. College and S. Salt Fork Pond streets. https://goo.gl/maps/QRNeLsBMpNL2 https://goo.gl/maps/3cQZ5X9ZP2t
