The London Athletic Club Tournament also known as the Championship of London or London Championships and later known as the Queens Club Championships was an early combined men's and women's grass court tennis tournament held at London Athletic Club, [1] Stamford Bridge, Fulham, London, Great Britain from 1881 to 1889.
History
Originally called the London Athletic Club Tournament established in 1881 it changed its names to the Championship of London in 1885 and continued to be held at Fulham until 1889. In 1890 this tournament moved to a new location and became known as the Queens Club Championships.[2]

Notes: Challenge Round: The Final round of a tournament, in which the winner of a single-elimination phase faces the previous year's champion, who plays only that one match. The challenge round was used in the early history of tennis (from 1877 through 1921) [3] in some tournaments not all.
