The long-tailed sabrewing (Campylopterus excellens) is a species of hummingbird in the Trochilidae family. It is often considered a subspecies of the wedge-tailed sabrewing, but is larger and longer-tailed. It is endemic to humid forest in the region around the Isthmus of Tehuantepec in southern Mexico. It is threatened by habitat loss.
