Luke Wade-Slater (born 2 March 1998) is an Irish footballer who plays for League Two side Stevenage.

Club career

Wade-Slater joined Stevenage as an academy scholar in the summer of 2015, having previously been on schoolboy terms at Irish academy side St Kevin's Boys.[2] He featured regularly for Stevenage's U18 side for two seasons,[3] impressing in the club's FA Youth Cup run during the 2015–16 season.[4] Wade-Slater made his first-team debut in November 2016, coming on as a 77th minute substitute in a 4–0 EFL Trophy victory over Southend United at Broadhall Way.[5] He subsequently signed his first professional contract with the club in May 2017.[3] Wade-Slater made his Football League debut in October 2017, appearing as a second-half substitute as Stevenage fell to a 1–0 away defeat to Crewe Alexandra.[6]

International career

Wade-Slater appeared regularly for Republic of Ireland at U17 level, making his debut in February 2015 and proceeding to earn five caps throughout 2015.[7][8] He was then called up to play for the U18 side in May 2016, playing three times within the space of a month for the U18s.
