Mahendra Perera, is an award-winning Sri Lankan artist of cinema, television and theatre. He started his career in the 1993 film Nelum Ha Samanmalee, and rose to prominence in 2004 by playing the male lead in the highly successful film Mille Soya, and later the 2008 film Machan.[3] He is a past pupil of Thurstan College, Colombo.[citation needed]
