Tarentola maioensis (English name: Maio wall gecko) is a species of geckos in the family Phyllodactylidae. The species is endemic to the Cape Verde Islands, they are founded in the island of Maio[1] The species was named in by Hans Hermann Schleich in 1984.
Etymology
The specific name is named after the island of Maio where it is founded.[1]
Taxonomy
The subspecies were elevated from Tarentola rudis maioensis by Vasconcelos, Perera, Geniez, Harris & Carranza en 2012.[2]
