Majuli College (Assamese: মাজুলী মহাবিদ্যালয়) is based at Kamalabari in Majuli, Assam, India.[1] It has been founded in 1962, and is affiliated to AHSEC and Dibrugarh University besides being recognized by University Grants Commission of India (UGC). The college is located on a fortified campus surrounded by a few Vaishnavite monasteries called satras and lush-green paddy fields.
History
Founded in the eventful year of 1962 on the 17th of September with a lofty mission of heralding higher education in geographically alienated and economically backward Majuli, Majuli College now stands atop a priceless heritage of more than fifty years of continuous knowledge hunting and dissemination thanks to the untiring efforts of a host of conscious educationists and selfless public activists like Keshabram Borah (the fifth science graduate of Assam) and Krishna Kanta Goswami.[2] It has indeed been an acute challenge during a time when people are already fear-struck by the Chinese invasion even as the devastating floods take a heavy toll on them simultaneously posing tremendous threats to the historic endeavor; but these two illustrious sons of Majuli tours every nook and cranny on foot, mobilizing public opinions and collecting donations for the proposed college. Thus conquering the vicissitudes a dream comes true at last. Yet the college has numerous hurdles to grapple with in realizing its vision of securing a place alongside all major institutions of the state and country. With an energetic teaching faculty ever-sensitive to the fast-changing world of education, the College strives for wonders to be accomplished in the days ahead and vows to leave its indelible imprints on the sands of time.
Courses
The college offers Higher Secondary, Under Graduate and Post Graduate courses. It periodically organizes career counselling sessions, symposia and popular and motivational talks, and has started job-oriented multi-utility diploma and certificate courses designed to help students build careers. The college also facilitates education through Distance Learning mode under Krishna Kanta Handiqui State Open University (KKHSOU) and Dibrugarh University both at UG and PG levels.

Library Facilities
The College provides digitized classroom and library facilities to students. During the Golden Jubilee Celebrations programme the library is renamed after the first principal of this college as Siksharatna Atul Chandra Goswami Granthagar.

The College publishes an annual magazine, "Majulian", formerly named as "Majuli College Magazine", the first issue of which has been brought out in 1965.
