Malaconotus is a genus of bird in the bush-shrike family Malaconotidae . About 60% of the species formerly placed here are now usually separated in Telophorus. The old taxonomy is also often found though.

Sometimes the olive bushshrike (Telophorus olivaceus) is included in this genus.
