Manavadar is a city and a municipality in Junagadh district in the state of Gujarat.
History
Bantva Manavadar was a princely state of British India. Founded in 1733, it became a British protectorate in 1818. On 25 September 1947, it acceded to the newly formed Pakistan. However, Indian forces entered the area on the grounds that the state was a vassal of the Junagadh state, which was itself a vassal of the Baroda state that had acceded to India. Subsequently, after a successful plebiscite, the state was absorbed into the Union of India on 15 February 1948.
આ વાતને કોઈ લાંબો સમય થયો નથી . ર૦૦ વર્ષ પહેલાની કેડી ઉપર નજર માંડી એ તો ઈ.સ. ૧૮૦૦ પહેલા માણાવદર વસ્યું નહોતું ત્યારે આ જગ્યાએ જંગલ અને ઝાડવા હતા અને તેની આસપાસ નાના નાના ( મવાડા ) ટીંબાઓ હતા જેવા કે હડમતીળી, ટોડાટી , મહાદેવ વાડી, દાડમધાર લખી, દુધાધારસ, મોરી , હિરાટી , મીતડી ઢોરો , વેરવા , માણસા અને જયાં આજે માણાવદર વસ્યું છે તે માણલા નેસ ટીંબાનો સમાવેશ થાય છે.
એ વખતે સૌરાષ્ટ્રમાં રરર રજવાડા હતા. માણાવદરનું રજવાડું તાલુકાદાર ગણાતું.માણાવદરની ગાદી ઉપર સૌ પ્રથમ દિલેરખાનજી બાબી અને છેલ્લા રાજવી તરીકે ઈ.સ. ૧૯૧૮ માં નવાબ ગુલામ મોહિદીન ખાનજી માત્ર છ વર્ષની નાની ઉંમરે ગાદી ઉપર આવ્યા હતા. ૧૯ વર્ષની ઉંમરે એટલે કે ઈ.સ. ૧૯૩૧ માં તેમણે માણાવદરનો સંપૂર્ણ વહીવટ સંભાળ્યો હતો. ઈ.સ. ૧૯૧૮ થી ૧૯૩૧ સુધી રાજનો કારભાર તેની માતા ફાતિમા સીદીકા બેગમ સંભાળતી હતી.
માણાવદર નીચે ર૪ ગામો હોવાથી માણાવદર ચોવીસી તરીકે ઓળખાતું હતું. રાજકોટની રાજકુમાર કોલેજમાં શિક્ષણ પ્રાપ્ત કરી ઓકટોબર ૧૯૩૩ માં માંગરોળની દરબાર શેખ સાહેબની બહેન કુદસિયા બેગમ સાહેબા સાથે ગુલામ મોહિદીનખાને લગ્ન કરેલા અને માર્ચ ૧૯૩પ માં ( ૧પ-૩-૧૯૩પ) ગાદીનો સ્પષ્ટ વારસદાર પુત્ર નવાબજાદા મોહમંદ અસ્લમખાનનો જન્મ થયો જેની ખુશીમાં નવાબે ફતેહદીન મેદાન કે જે સ્પોટર્સ કલબ કહેવાય છે તેમાં રમત ગમત અને જુદી જુદી રમતો , ગાયન વાદન અને રેસના એકસ્ટ્રા કાર્યક્રમો રાખ્યા હતા.
ગુલામખાનજીને ક્રિકેટ અને હોકીનો પણ જબરો શોખ હતો. આ નવાબ ભારતીય હોકી ટીમના કપ્તાન પદે રહી ચૂકયા હતા. રાજા રજવાડાનો તપતો સુરજ અસ્ત થયો પણ નવાબી વખતની પુરાણી સ્મૃતિઓના નમુનેદાર અવશેષો આજે પણ સળગતા લીલા લાકડાની જેમ ધુંધવાઈને એ જમાનાની યાદને સુખડની જેમાં મહેકાવી રહયા છે.
માણાવદર શહેર ગુજરાત રાજયના જુનાગઢ જીલ્લામાં આવેલ છે.માણાવદર શહેરમાં અગાઉ ભૂકંપ તા ર૬-૧-ર૦૦૧ ના રોજ આવેલ જેની તીવ્રતા ઓછી હતી.માણાવદર શહેરમાં સને ૧૯૮૩ માં પુર પણ આવેલ હતું અને શહેરમાં સને ૧૯૯૮ માં વાવાઝોડું આવેલ હતું.

Geography
Manavadar is located at 21°30′N 70°08′E / 21.5°N 70.13°E.[2] It has an average elevation of 24 metres (78 feet).
Demographics
As of 2001[update] India census,[3] Manavadar had a population of 27,559. Males constitute 52% of the population and females 48%. Manavadar has an average literacy rate of 82%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 76%, and female literacy is 63%. In Manavadar, 12% of the population is under 6 years of age.
It has developed cotton industry and cotton and groundnut are the most cash crops of the area. The town was famous once upon a time [when?] due to its vegetable ghee industries, but in winds and sweeps of economic reform in India, all three units has been closed. Manavadar taluk have big towns or villages like Bantwa, Nanadiya, Khambhla, Nakara,Pajod, Jilana, Sardargadh (List of Indian Princely States), Mitdi, Limbuda, Indra, Sherdi, Bhimora, Galvav, Sanosara,Koyalana(Ghed), Zinzari, Chudva, Khadiya, Vadala, Sitana, Bhitana, padaradi (Ghed)(પાદરડી-ઘેડ) etc.

Kuvar-pak
Manavadar is very famous for a sweet named Kuvar-pak.
This sweet is prepared from [Aloe Vera], Sugar, Ghee and Milk.
It is generally being prepared in the winter season.
It was invented by a person called Vanabapa and their family members.
now available in JAY BAJARANAG FARSAN HOUSE (Chandubhai gathiya wala) and Vanabapa kuwarpakwala.
